Make the summer holidays count by joining Care Squared Connect’s allied health and creative therapies intensive School Holiday Program.

The theme of the summer program is ‘What makes you SUPER’ where we discuss and embrace the unique skills and traits that set us apart from other people.

With programs running in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, this unique program is designed to give NDIS participants, aged 6 to 14, game-changing support throughout the holidays.

Brooke Bofinger, CEO of Care Squared Connect, says that the program has been ‘transformative’ for many young people.

“We’ve been running the school holiday programs since 2021 and the feedback from Participants, their families and support workers has been phenomenal.

“From our perspective, it’s an exceptionally effective way to give kids an opportunity to work toward their NDIS goals.

“While the premise of this program is all about fun and social interaction, they’re outcomes focused – giving practitioners and therapists an opportunity to deliver personalised allied health support in a small and thoughtfully coordinated group environment.”

The school holiday program is designed and delivered by allied health professionals, including exercise physiologists, art therapists, music therapists, behaviour support practitioners, psychologists and more.

As a clinically backed option for children and young people who receive NDIS funding, it’s been devised to give participants dedicated support to work towards goals they would normally tackle over a period of months.

“Our ‘get to know me’ form, completed when you sign up to the school holiday program, is a critical piece of the puzzle,” Brooke said.

“It enables us to thoroughly triage Participants, which is really important for ensuring everyone’s needs are met at an individual level, and so that they feel happy and included in their respective groups.

“While two allied health facilitators deliver each session, we also need the help of great support workers – hence we made a beeline for Hireup.”

For Peter Willis, General Manager – Hireup for Providers, the relationship has delivered wins all round.

“We love it when our technology and teams create the right connections, as we saw here.

“Our team love finding and partnering with great disability organisations like Care Squared. Looking ahead, our goal is to continue working together in this way, but are also looking for new ways to share Care Squared’s programs with other NDIS Participants using Hireup for 1:1 support. Because we can all benefit from each other’s expertise and services to deliver a greater community impact.”

Funding for Care Squared Connect’s school holiday program can be utilised from a variety of budget areas, including Core Supports, Social and Community Participation and Capacity Building. Program participants will receive a handy backpack, water bottle and certificate of participation.
